Frequently Asked Questions

💻 Custom PC Builds

Q: How do I start a custom PC build with DragonStone Technologies?
A: It begins with a consultation where we talk through your needs, budget, and goals. After that, we’ll send you an itemized invoice showing all components, their current market prices, and our build fee. Once you approve it, we order the parts and get started.

Q: Can I supply my own parts?
A: Yes, but any used parts must be from reputable retailers (Amazon, Newegg, Jawa, or local stores). Pre-existing issues with customer-supplied parts are not covered under our warranty.

Q: How long does a custom build usually take?
A: Most standard builds are completed within 3 business days of receiving all parts. More complex or water-cooled systems may take up to 5 business days.

🔧 Repairs, Diagnostics & Upgrades

Q: How much does a diagnostic cost?
A: Diagnostics are billed as outlined in your invoice, typically based on complexity. Basic diagnostics cover quick checks and scans, while advanced diagnostics include deeper troubleshooting.

Q: Will repairs void my warranty?
A: Some services, especially hardware modifications or repasting, may void manufacturer warranties. We’ll always let you know before starting any work that could affect a warranty.

Q: Can you install parts I bought elsewhere?
A: Yes, we can, as long as the parts come from a trusted retailer. If the part fails and is under manufacturer warranty, we’ll help you with the RMA process for systems we built.

🌀 Maintenance Services

Q: Why should I get my PC cleaned or repasted?
A: Dust buildup and old thermal paste reduce cooling efficiency, which can lead to crashes, loud fans, and shorter component life. A proper cleaning and repaste restores airflow and keeps your system performing at its best.

Q: How often should I schedule maintenance?
A: We recommend every 6–12 months, especially if your system runs demanding tasks or is in an environment with pets or dust.

📸 Photography & Videography

Q: Do I get the RAW files or just edited photos?
A: You choose. We can deliver unedited RAW and JPEG files for a faster turnaround, or you can opt for professionally edited images. Edited sets typically take 2–4 weeks, while RAW/JPEG delivery is usually 5–7 days.

Q: Do you shoot video as well?
A: Yes, we offer videography services for events, promotional content, and creative projects. At this time, we provide raw footage delivery. Editing services will be available in the future.

Q: Can I use my photos and videos for commercial purposes?
A: Personal clients receive a license for private use, while commercial clients are granted a commercial license as outlined in their invoice. Exclusive rights can be arranged for an additional fee.

📦 Pickup & Delivery

Q: Do you ship PCs or services outside Greenville, Ohio?
A: We currently provide direct delivery and setup within a 50-mile radius of Greenville, Ohio. We do not ship systems via mail or third-party couriers.

Q: What if I cannot pick up my computer after service?
A: We hold client property for up to 60 days after service completion. After that, unclaimed items may be considered abandoned and disposed of at our discretion.

âš¡ Payments & Policies

Q: When is payment due?
A: Parts for custom builds must be paid upfront before ordering. Service and labor fees are due upon completion, unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept card (swipe), Google Pay, PayPal, CashApp, cash, and online invoices. Personal checks are accepted only in limited cases.

Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: Because our builds and services are customized for each client, all sales are generally final. Partial refunds may be considered only if no work has started and no parts have been ordered, or via certain extenuating circumstances.
